Travelers transiting through OR Tambo International, Cape Town International, King Shaka, or Lanseria (Johannesburg) airports do not require a transit visa but must provide biometrics at the airport. This exemption does not apply to deportees. Foreigners transiting to neighboring countries (Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini, Zimbabwe) must apply for a transit visa in advance. Transit visas are not issued at ports of entry.
