Foreign nationals intending to work in Tunisia require both a long-stay visa (Visa D) and a work permit. Work permits are granted only when there is a shortage of qualified Tunisian workers in a specific field. The employer must demonstrate that the position cannot be filled by a qualified Tunisian national. A residence card valid for 1-2 years must also be obtained and renewed along with the work contract.
