Short-stay visa for medical treatment (cure mediche) at Italian healthcare facilities. Issued for the period necessary to complete treatments, up to 90 days. For treatments exceeding 90 days, a Type D national visa is required. An accompanying person may also apply for a visa.

Eligibility

  • Nationality

    Must be a national of an Annex I country requiring a Schengen visa.

  • Financial

    Must prove ability to pay full treatment costs, accommodation, and repatriation expenses.

  • Health

    Must have accepted treatment plan from an accredited Italian healthcare facility. Must provide 30% deposit of estimated treatment costs or have authorization under humanitarian programs.
