Diplomatic visas are issued to holders of diplomatic and official/service passports travelling to Lithuania for official governmental or international organization duties. Many countries have bilateral visa waiver agreements with Lithuania for diplomatic passport holders, granting visa-free entry for short stays. Accredited diplomats posted to Lithuanian missions receive a special diplomatic identity card issued by the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The visa fee is waived for diplomatic passport holders. EU/EEA/Swiss diplomatic passport holders do not require any visa. Lithuania has bilateral visa waiver agreements for diplomatic passports with numerous countries. For Annex I countries where no bilateral agreement exists, a Schengen visa may still be required but is processed on a priority basis with the fee waived. The Lithuanian visa application form distinguishes between national passport, diplomatic passport, service passport, and other travel document types.
