Cyprus student entry visa for non-EU/EEA citizens enrolling in higher education institutions. The student visa is an entry permit valid for up to 90 days. Upon arrival, students MUST apply for a Temporary Residence Permit at the Cyprus Migration Department (CRMD), which allows legal residence for the duration of studies. The residence permit is valid for 1 year and renewable annually based on continued enrollment and academic performance. Visa-exempt nationals (Annex II countries) can enter Cyprus without a student visa but must still apply for the residence permit if studying for more than 90 days. The student visa is issued for a specific institution; changing institutions requires a new residence permit. Non-EU citizens are generally NOT permitted to work in Cyprus on a student visa. Upon arrival, students must undergo medical examinations (Hepatitis B/C, HIV, Syphilis, and chest X-Ray). Processing time is approximately 1 month after complete document submission, so applicants should apply 2-3 months before intended travel.
