Foreign nationals engaging in lawful occupation with compensation and having bona fide employer-employee relationship. Requires Alien Employment Permit (AEP) from DOLE before visa application. Provisional Work Permit (PWP) available after 2 weeks for immediate work while 9(g) processes.

How to apply

  1. Document gathering

    Philippine employer initiates process. Prepares joint letter, employment contract, company documents, and submits to DOLE for AEP.

  2. Processing wait

    Obtain Alien Employment Permit (AEP) from DOLE. Processing: 2-3 weeks. Optional: Apply for Provisional Work Permit (PWP) after 2 weeks for immediate work.

  3. Document submission

    Submit all required documents including approved AEP, employment contract, company SEC registration, Mayor's permit, and employer's tax returns.

  4. Fee payment

    Pay visa fees. First-time: ₱10,000-₱20,000 PHP (approx. $175-$350 USD) including government fees, ACR I-Card, and processing fees. Renewal: ₱8,000-₱15,000 PHP.

  5. Visa collection

    Wait 2-3 months total for complete processing (including AEP). Whole visa processing takes 2-3 months depending on document completeness and BI workload.
