Family reunification allows spouses, registered partners, minor children (under 18), and other dependent family members to join a third-country national legally residing in Slovenia with a valid residence permit. The sponsor must have held a valid residence permit for at least 1 year and demonstrate adequate income (minimum social assistance level) and accommodation. Family members receive a temporary residence permit that allows them to work in Slovenia. Under the Slovenian Foreigners Act, family reunification is processed through the local Administrative Unit (Upravna enota).
