Citizens of transit visa waiver countries (including China since 2025, Fiji since September 2024) can transit through Auckland Airport on an NZeTA instead of a Transit Visa. Must remain in the transit area for no more than 24 hours. These countries still require a full Visitor Visa to actually enter New Zealand.

  Must hold a passport from a transit visa waiver country: Bahamas, China, Colombia, Fiji, Indonesia, Kiribati, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Thailand, Tonga, Tuvalu, Venezuela.
