    Must have a confirmed job offer or employment contract with a Slovak employer. The employer must register the vacancy with the Labour Office for at least 15 business days before application (labour market test).

How to apply

  1. Document gathering

    The employer must report the job opening to the Slovak Labour Office and wait 15 business days to allow the office to find an eligible Slovak or EU citizen to fill the position.

  2. Online application

    Fill out the application for temporary residence for the purpose of employment (Single Permit).

  3. Fee payment

    Pay 232 EUR temporary residence application fee and 90 EUR national visa fee.

  4. Appointment booking

    Schedule appointment at the Slovak embassy/consulate with territorial jurisdiction.

  5. Document submission

    Submit all original documents in person at the embassy. Foreign public documents must be apostilled or superlegalized.

  6. Biometrics

    Fingerprints and photograph collected at embassy during submission.

  7. Processing wait

    Processing takes 30-90 days. The Foreign Police Department issues the decision in cooperation with the Labour Office.

  8. Visa collection

    Upon approval, collect the National Visa (D) for entry to Slovakia. After arriving, register with the Foreign Police and collect the Single Permit card.
