The Single-Entry Tourist Visa (TR) allows a stay of up to 60 days per entry and is valid for 3 months from the date of issue. It can be extended once at a Thai Immigration office for an additional 30 days (fee: THB 1,900), allowing a maximum stay of 90 days total. This visa is suitable for travelers from countries that are not eligible for visa exemption or who wish to stay longer than the visa-exempt period. Applications are submitted online via the Thailand e-Visa system. Thailand fully adopted e-Visa from 1 January 2025.

    Count: 1; Specifications: Recent passport-sized photograph (4x6 cm), full face, white background, taken within last 6 months. Digital upload for e-Visa.

  • Bank statement

    Minimum balance: Minimum balance equivalent to THB 20,000; Months required: 6

  • Accommodation proof

    Provide hotel booking, tenancy evidence or host details that cover the planned stay.

    Accepted types: Hotel booking confirmation for the duration of stay, or invitation letter from host in Thailand with copy of their ID; Must cover full stay: Yes

  • Flight reservation

    Provide flight booking or itinerary evidence when the route asks for travel plans.

    Must be confirmed: Yes; Must show return: Yes

How to apply

  1. Document gathering

    Gather required documents: valid passport, digital photo (4x6 cm), flight reservation, hotel booking or invitation letter, bank statements showing THB 20,000 minimum balance.

  2. Online application

    Create an account on the Thailand e-Visa portal (thaievisa.go.th). Complete the application form, upload all required documents, and select the Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate that has jurisdiction over your country of residence.

  3. Fee payment

    Pay the visa fee of approximately THB 1,000 (USD 40) online via credit or debit card.

  4. Processing wait

    Wait 5-10 business days for the embassy to review and process your application. You may be contacted for additional documents or an interview.

  5. Visa collection

    Upon approval, the e-Visa is electronically linked to your passport. Download and print the approval letter to carry when traveling.
