All persons traveling on official business in possession of an official or diplomatic passport must obtain a visa at a Chilean embassy or consulate before traveling to or through Chile. If holding a diplomatic/official passport but traveling for tourism, a tourist passport should be presented upon arrival as authorities will not grant a tourist visa or Tourist Card with a diplomatic/official passport. Applicants must apply in person and start the application at least 30 days before intended travel.
