Chinese nationals may enter Chile without a visa for up to 90 days if they hold any type of valid entry visa (except transit visa) issued by Canada or the United States with a validity of more than six months. Without such visa, Chinese nationals must apply for a Chilean tourist visa.

Citizens of around 95 countries can enter Chile without obtaining a visa in advance. Upon arrival, visitors receive a Tourist Card (Tarjeta de Turismo) valid for up to 90 days, which can be extended for another 90 days by paying $100 USD at the Chilean Immigration Office. The Tourist Card must be returned upon departure. Reciprocity fees previously charged to some nationalities have been eliminated.

The e-Vistur is an electronic visa issued since 2020 for nationals of countries that require a visa to enter Chile. It is applied for online through the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs website. The visa is single entry and valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. Applicants should apply 30-60 days before intended travel. Fees are non-refundable only if the visa is approved.
