The East African Tourist Visa (EATV) allows travel to Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda with multiple entries within the three countries. The visa is valid for 90 days and costs $100 USD. Travelers must begin their tour from the country where the visa was issued. Citizens of Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda are exempt as they enjoy visa-free travel within EAC. Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for all travelers over 1 year of age.

How to apply

  1. Online application

    Prepare application letter stating purpose of visit, proof of financial means (bank statements or sponsor letter), flight reservations, and accommodation proof.

  3. Fee payment

    Pay the visa fee of $100 USD online using credit or debit card. Note that visa fees are non-refundable and subject to bank charges.

  4. Processing wait

    Wait for visa processing. Processing typically takes 7-10 business days. Apply well in advance of your travel date.

  5. Visa collection

    Download and print your approved e-visa. You must begin your tour from the country where the visa was issued. Present the printed visa at the port of entry along with passport and yellow fever certificate.
