    Must have a confirmed job offer or employment contract with a Czech employer. Position must be registered as a vacancy at the Labor Office for at least 30 days (labor market test) unless exempt.

How to apply

  1. Document gathering

    Obtain employment contract or letter of intent from Czech employer. The position must pass the labor market test at the Czech Labor Office. Gather passport, photos, criminal record, accommodation proof.

  2. Online application

    Fill out the Employee Card application form. All documents must be submitted in originals with Czech translations.

  3. Fee payment

    Pay 5000 CZK application fee at the embassy.

  4. Appointment booking

    Schedule appointment at the Czech embassy/consulate with territorial jurisdiction.

  5. Document submission

    Submit all original documents in person at the embassy. Foreign public documents must be apostilled or superlegalized.

  6. Biometrics

    Fingerprints and photograph collected at embassy during submission. Card pickup requires additional fingerprints in Czech Republic.

  7. Processing wait

    Legal processing time is 60 days, extendable to 90 days. Ministry of Interior processes via the Labor Office binding opinion.

  8. Visa collection

    Upon approval, collect a 60-day entry visa from the embassy. After arriving in Czech Republic, visit the Ministry of Interior to collect the Employee Card within 60 days.
