Required for studies lasting more than 90 days. Students whose study period is less than 90 days can study on a tourist visa. The Temporary Residence Student Visa is granted for a maximum of two years and is renewable. Students are allowed to work up to 30 hours per week without additional authorization. After approval, you have 120 days to download the electronic visa stamp and 90 days to enter Chile.

Online application
Create an account and complete the online application for 'Solicitud de Residencia Temporal para extranjeros fuera de Chile' on the National Migration Service website.

Document gathering
Gather required documents: valid passport, police clearance certificate (if over 18), Certificate of Enrollment (Certificado de Matrícula) or Regular Student Certificate (Certificado de Alumno Regular). Documents in languages other than Spanish or English must be translated and apostilled.
