National D visa for medical treatment, medical rehabilitation, or other health-related purposes requiring stays exceeding 90 days in Lithuania. This visa allows entry and stay in Lithuania for the specified treatment period, up to 12 months. If treatment exceeds 12 months, a temporary residence permit must be applied for. The D visa also allows travel within the Schengen area for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. If a 1-year national visa was granted, another national visa can only be issued if more than 180 days have passed since the expiration of the previous visa.

    Third-country nationals (non-EU/EEA/Swiss) requiring medical treatment in Lithuania exceeding 90 days.

  • Health

    Must provide medical documentation supporting the need for treatment in Lithuania and confirmation from the Lithuanian medical institution.

  • Financial

    Must demonstrate ability to cover medical treatment costs and living expenses for the duration of stay.

How to apply

  1. Document gathering

    Obtain treatment confirmation from Lithuanian medical institution. Gather medical reports, passport, photos, insurance, financial proof, and accommodation evidence.

  2. Online application

    Complete the national D visa application form through MIGRIS indicating medical treatment as purpose.

  3. Appointment booking

    Book appointment at Lithuanian embassy or consulate.

  4. Fee payment

    Pay the national D visa fee of EUR 60.

  5. Biometrics

    Provide biometric data at the appointment.

  6. Document submission

    Submit all documents in person at the embassy/consulate.

  7. Processing wait

    Wait for processing, typically 15 calendar days, may extend up to 45 calendar days.

  8. Visa collection
