EU, EEA (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway) and Swiss nationals have full freedom of movement within Lithuania. No visa or residence permit is required for any duration. Right to live, work, and study freely. A valid national ID card or passport is sufficient for entry. Lithuania joined the Schengen area on 21 December 2007. EU citizens staying longer than 3 months should register their residence with the Lithuanian Migration Department (Migracijos departamentas).
