How to apply

Document gathering
Apply to and receive an acceptance letter from a recognized Greek university or educational institution. Ensure the letter includes program name, dates, and duration.

Download and complete the national D visa application form from the Greek MFA website.

Appointment booking
Schedule an appointment at the Greek consulate or embassy in your country of residence. Must apply at the consulate with jurisdiction over your permanent address.

Fee payment
Pay EUR 75 D visa fee at the time of application submission.

Document submission
Appear in person at the Greek consulate/embassy to submit all documents. Passport will be retained during processing.

Processing wait
Legal processing time is 40 days but in practice often 2-3 months. Apply well in advance (at least 3 months before program start date).
