Foreign nationals need both a work visa and a work permit to legally work in Jordan. Work permit issued by Ministry of Labor grants legal authorization to work. All expats must secure a job before obtaining work visa and permit. Foreign workers not allowed in certain professions reserved for Jordanians (administrative roles, drivers, telecommunications workers).

  Provide medical evidence from a recognised doctor or clinic when the route asks for health confirmation.

How to apply

1. Document gathering

   Employer submits job advertisement and conducts labor market test to demonstrate local talent shortage.

2. Document submission

   Employer applies to Ministry of Labor for work permit on behalf of foreign employee.

3. Processing wait

   Wait for work permit approval from Ministry of Labor.

4. Fee payment

   Pay work permit and visa fees.

5. Visa collection

   Receive work visa and travel to Jordan to begin employment.
