Foreign nationals studying in Mexico for longer than 180 days must obtain a Student Temporary Resident Visa. After arrival in Mexico, students must apply to the National Migration Institute (INM) within 30 days for a resident card. Students cannot work or engage in any remunerative activity while on a student visa. The temporary resident card fee ranges from 3,000-7,000 MXN depending on the number of years issued.
