Must have valid employment contract. Employer must sponsor visa. Cannot begin work without approved visa. Must register with Immigration within 30 days. Subject to Dominican labor laws. Medical certificates no longer required as of January 2026. After 5 years temporary residence (RT-9), can apply for permanent residence (RP-1). After 2 years permanent residence, eligible for citizenship.
