Citizens of these countries may enter Belgium and the Schengen Area without a visa for stays up to 90 days within any 180-day period. For Albania (AL), Bosnia and Herzegovina (BA), Georgia (GE), Moldova (MD), Montenegro (ME), North Macedonia (MK), Serbia (RS), Ukraine (UA), and Kosovo (XK), only holders of biometric passports qualify for visa-free entry. HK and MO refer to Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR respectively. TW refers to Taiwan. ETIAS travel authorization (EUR 20) will be required once the system launches in late 2026. Cannot engage in paid employment during stay.

How to apply

  1. Document gathering

    Ensure passport is valid for at least 3 months beyond planned departure from Schengen Area and was issued within the last 10 years. Prepare proof of accommodation, return flight, travel insurance, and sufficient funds.

  2. Online application

    Once ETIAS launches (expected late 2026), visa-free travelers will need to obtain an ETIAS travel authorization online before travel. The fee will be EUR 20, valid for 3 years.
