EU, EEA, and Swiss nationals enjoy full freedom of movement within Malta. No visa or residence permit is required for any length of stay. Citizens can enter with a valid passport or national identity card. They have the right to live, work, and study freely. After staying more than 3 months, registration of residence at the local council is required.
