Foreign correspondents traveling in Uzbekistan must have a certificate of accreditation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Multiple-entry visas are issued to permanent accredited foreign correspondents for the term of accreditation without collection of consular fees.

    Accredited foreign correspondents have the right for free movement in Uzbekistan except for places closed for visiting or requiring special sanction. Forbidden to call for violent change of constitutional system, violate territorial integrity, propagandize war and violence, or intervene in internal affairs.

    Blank pages required: 1; Validity months: 3

  • Invitation letter

    Host requirements: Written reference from the head of the foreign mass media addressed to the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Must receive positive recommendation from Uzbek diplomatic mission where publication is based.

  • Endorsement letter

    Endorsement type: Positive recommendation letter; Endorsing body: Uzbekistan diplomatic mission

How to apply

  1. Document gathering

    Obtain positive recommendation from Uzbek diplomatic mission where publication is based. Provide information about the publication and its sources of funding.

  2. Document submission

    Submit written reference from head of foreign mass media addressed to Minister of Foreign Affairs.

  3. Processing wait

    Ministry of Foreign Affairs processes accreditation decision within 2 weeks.

  4. Visa collection

    After positive decision, Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues accreditation certificate and multiple-entry visa directly (no consular fees).
