Student pass is granted to foreign nationals above the age of 4 years enrolled in a learning institution in Uganda. Can be issued for 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months. East African nationals (Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania) are exempted from the visa fee. Requires letter of admission from a recognized Ugandan educational institution. Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for all travelers over 1 year of age.

How to apply

  1. Document gathering

    Complete the student pass application at the official Uganda immigration portal. Upload all required documents including passport bio-data page, admission letter, photograph, financial proof, and yellow fever certificate.

  3. Fee payment

    Pay the visa fee of $100 USD online using credit or debit card. East African nationals are exempt from this fee.

  4. Processing wait

    Wait for student pass processing. Applications typically take 7-10 business days to process.

  5. Visa collection

    Download and print your approved student pass. Present it at port of entry along with passport, yellow fever certificate, and admission letter.
