Student Pass is required for all international students enrolling in Malaysian educational institutions. Applications are typically processed through the educational institution using EMGS (Education Malaysia Global Services) portal. Students can work part-time for 20 hours per week during university holidays only.

How to apply

  1. Online application

    Educational institution submits Student Pass application through EMGS portal (https://visa.educationmalaysia.gov.my/) on behalf of student.

  2. Document gathering

    Student provides passport copy, photos, admission letter, financial proof, medical report, and academic transcripts to institution.

  3. Fee payment

    Pay Student Pass processing fee (approximately MYR 60 annual fee plus EMGS processing fees).

  4. Processing wait

    Wait 2-4 months for approval. Student receives eVAL (Electronic Visa Approval Letter).

  5. Visa collection

    Enter Malaysia with eVAL and Single Entry Visa. Report to Immigration Department within 7 days of arrival to complete Student Pass formalities and receive physical pass sticker.
