VITEM V is for foreign nationals working in Brazil under formal employment contract or providing technical assistance. Requires approval from Ministry of Labor (30 days) followed by consular processing (15 business days). Cannot be applied for while in Brazil on tourist visa - must apply from home country. Valid for 2 years, can be converted to permanent visa after 2 years.
