Diplomatic passport holders from visa-required countries (excluding those with bilateral exemptions) must still obtain a visa before travelling to Ireland. However, they are exempt from visa fees. The visa is typically issued for 90 days single entry. Applications should be submitted through diplomatic channels (note verbale from Ministry of Foreign Affairs). Possession of a diplomatic passport alone does not confer diplomatic privileges and immunities.
