Citizens of Annex II countries under EU Regulation 2018/1806 can travel to Luxembourg and the Schengen Area without a visa for short stays up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This covers tourism, business visits, family visits, and other short-stay purposes. Starting late 2026, visa-free travelers will need ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) authorization before entry. For Western Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Ukraine), the visa-free regime applies only to holders of biometric passports. Hong Kong and Macao exemption applies only to SAR passport holders. Taiwan exemption applies only to passport holders with an identity card number.

How to apply

Document gathering
Prepare passport valid for at least 3 months beyond departure, travel insurance, proof of accommodation, and return flight reservation.

Register for ETIAS authorization online (required from late 2026 onwards).

Document submission
Present documents at Luxembourg border control upon arrival. Make a declaration of arrival at the local commune within 3 days.
