Standard Cyprus short-stay visa for tourism. Fee is EUR 90 for adults, EUR 45 for children aged 6-12, free for children under 6. Processing time is typically 7-10 business days. Cyprus has fully harmonized visa procedures, required documents, fees, and visa stickers with Schengen member states, even though it is not yet part of the Schengen Area. The visa is valid ONLY for the territory of the Republic of Cyprus and does NOT grant the right to free movement within the Schengen area. Apply at the nearest Cyprus embassy/consulate. Some missions use VFS Global for visa submissions. Legal points of entry: Larnaca and Paphos airports, and the seaports of Limassol, Larnaca, Latsi, and Paphos.

    Required for nationals of Annex I countries under EU Regulation 2018/1806 who do not hold a valid Schengen visa or residence permit.

    Must demonstrate sufficient financial means to cover expenses during the stay and funds for return journey.

    Must not be subject to entry bans or deportation orders from Cyprus or other EU member states.

How to apply

  1. Online application

    Complete the Cyprus visa application form. Note: fields 25, 26, and 29 are not required until Cyprus joins the Schengen Area.

  2. Document gathering

    Collect all required documents: passport, photos, financial proof, travel insurance (EUR 30,000 minimum), accommodation confirmation, flight reservations, and cover letter.

  3. Appointment booking

    Schedule an appointment at the nearest Cyprus embassy, consulate, or authorized visa application center (VFS Global where available). If the consulate is more than 200 km away, some allow postal submissions.

  4. Fee payment

    Pay the visa application fee: EUR 90 for adults, EUR 45 for children 6-12, free for children under 6.

  5. Document submission

    Attend the appointment in person and submit all documents. Passport will be retained during processing. Must apply in person unless the embassy is more than 200 km away.

  6. Biometrics

    Provide fingerprints and photograph at the visa application center or embassy.

  7. Processing wait

    Standard processing time is 7-10 business days. May be extended in complex cases.

  8. Visa collection
