Diplomatic visa is granted to holders of diplomatic passports at no cost. Requires covering letter from the Embassy (Diplomatic note) and recommendation letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Uganda). Valid for 6, 12, 24, or 36 months. Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for all travelers over 1 year of age. All documents must be in English.

How to apply

  1. Document gathering

    Gather required documents: diplomatic passport (bio-data page and cover page), diplomatic note from Embassy, recommendation letter from Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Uganda), police clearance, recent passport photo, and yellow fever certificate. All documents must be in English.

  2. Online application

    Complete the diplomatic visa application at the official Uganda immigration portal. Select 'Diplomatic and Official' category. Upload all required documents including diplomatic passport, diplomatic note, recommendation letter, police clearance, and yellow fever certificate.

  3. Processing wait

    Wait for diplomatic visa processing. Applications typically take 5-7 business days. No fee is charged for diplomatic visas.

  4. Visa collection

    Download the approved diplomatic visa. Present it at port of entry along with diplomatic passport and yellow fever certificate. Visa can be issued for 6, 12, 24, or 36 months at no cost.
