Transit Visa (Leaving Airport)

A transit visa is required if you need to leave the airport during your layover in Turkey. If you remain in the international transit area (airside) and your layover is less than 24 hours, no visa is required. Transit visa can be obtained as e-Visa for eligible countries. Special airport transit visa requirements were introduced on April 15, 2024 for certain nationalities transiting to Mexico, Panama, Colombia, or Venezuela.

1. Online application

   Apply online at www.evisa.gov.tr at least 24 hours before travel

2. Fee payment

   Pay transit visa fee online

3. Processing wait

   Wait for approval (typically within 12 hours)

4. Visa collection

   Download and print transit visa
