For nationalities not eligible for visa-free or visa-on-arrival entry, a pre-arranged tourist visa is required. The visa must be sponsored by a licensed tourism establishment, hotel, or airline in the UAE. The base government fee is AED 200 plus 5% VAT; travel agencies may charge additional service fees of AED 150-200. If the applicant is already inside the UAE, additional fees apply: Knowledge Dirham AED 10, Innovation Dirham AED 10, and an inside-country fee of AED 500. Citizens of Iraq, Pakistan, Iran, and Afghanistan must also provide a copy of their national identity card.

How to apply

  1. Document gathering

    Gather passport copy (valid 6+ months), passport photo, return flight ticket, and travel insurance

  2. Online application

    Application is submitted by your sponsoring tourism establishment, hotel, or airline through the GDRFA or ICP portal. You can also apply via goev.ae or through airlines like Emirates

  3. Fee payment

    Pay the visa fee of AED 200 plus 5% VAT through the sponsoring entity or online portal

  4. Processing wait

    Wait approximately 48 hours for visa processing

  5. Visa collection

    Receive e-visa via email. Print the visa or save it on your device for presentation at UAE immigration
