LMIA-exempt work permit for employees being transferred within a multinational company to a Canadian branch, subsidiary, affiliate, or parent company. Three categories: executives, senior managers, and specialized knowledge workers. Must have been employed by the company for at least 1 year in the past 3 years. Canadian and foreign operations must have a qualifying corporate relationship. Also available under CUSMA (for US/Mexico nationals) and other free trade agreements.

Must be currently employed by a multinational company in an executive, senior management, or specialized knowledge capacity. Must have worked for the company for at least 1 year within the past 3 years. Canadian entity must have a qualifying relationship with the foreign entity.

Gather proof of corporate relationship between entities, employment verification showing 1+ year tenure, detailed job description for Canadian position, and proof of specialized knowledge or executive/managerial role.

Apply online through IRCC portal. Employer may need to submit offer through the IRCC Employer Portal first to obtain an employer compliance fee receipt.

Pay CAD $155 work permit processing fee plus CAD $85 biometrics fee. Employer pays $230 employer compliance fee.
