USA, UK, and Canada citizens must book a pre-arranged tour through an authorized Iranian travel agency. They cannot obtain visa on arrival and must have tour arrangements before applying. Must stay in registered accommodations. The requirement for a licensed guide to accompany travelers throughout their journey has been lifted as of October 2025.

How to apply

1. Document gathering

   Book tour through licensed Iranian travel agency who will arrange visa authorization

2. Online application

   Travel agency submits visa application on behalf of tourist to Ministry of Foreign Affairs

3. Document submission

   Submit passport copy, photo, tour booking, and itinerary through agency

4. Fee payment

   Pay visa fee through travel agency

5. Processing wait

   Wait for visa authorization approval from Ministry of Foreign Affairs

6. Visa collection

   Receive visa authorization code and obtain visa stamp upon arrival at Iranian airport
