For visitors sponsored by an eligible family member who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen. The sponsor must provide a bond (AUD $5,000 to $15,000) and sign a sponsorship undertaking. Stay of up to 12 months possible. The Sponsored Family Stream is typically used for longer visits.

For visitors from countries not eligible for ETA (601) or eVisitor (651). AUD $200 when applying from outside Australia, AUD $500 when applying from within Australia. Stay can be granted for 3, 6, or 12 months depending on circumstances. The Tourist Stream covers both tourism and visiting family/friends. May include Condition 8503 (No Further Stay) preventing onshore applications for other visas.
