The Fast-Track Scheme is an expedited work permit pathway requiring the employer to be pre-certified by SIRI. It offers five tracks: Pay Limit (minimum DKK 552,000/year), Supplementary Pay Limit (minimum DKK 446,000/year with additional conditions), Short-Term (up to 90 days in 365), Researcher, and Educational. Visa-exempt applicants can receive a preliminary work permit the same day at a SIRI office meeting, enabling immediate work. For visa-required applicants, SIRI approves a Type D long-stay visa within approximately 10 days.

Eligibility

  • Nationality

    Required for all non-EU/EEA nationals. The employer must be SIRI-certified to use the Fast-Track Scheme.

  • Employment

    Must have a job offer from a SIRI-certified employer. Salary must be at least DKK 552,000/year (Pay Limit track) or DKK 446,000/year (Supplementary Pay Limit track). Employment must be full-time (37-40 hours/week) except for the Short-Term track. Employer must provide power of attorney.

How to apply

  1. Document gathering

    Employer prepares application with employment contract, power of attorney (approved template), passport copies, and educational background proof.

  2. Online application

    Employer submits application online through SIRI on behalf of the applicant.

  3. Fee payment

    Pay the DKK 6,810 application fee.

  4. Biometrics

    Record biometrics within 14 days at Danish diplomatic mission or SIRI office. Visa-exempt applicants may book a meeting at SIRI for same-day preliminary permit.

  5. Processing wait

    Wait for processing. Standard: approximately 1 month. Same-day preliminary permit available for visa-exempt applicants at SIRI. Type D visa issued within ~10 days for visa-required applicants.

  6. Visa collection

    Receive preliminary work permit (at SIRI meeting) or Type D visa (at diplomatic mission). Collect biometric residence card upon arrival in Denmark.
