The Special Temporary Visa for Medical Treatment is granted to foreigners requiring medical treatment that cannot be completed within the terms of a visitor's visa or entry permit. Maximum validity 2 years based on treatment duration. Does NOT authorize work or remunerated activity. Must have health insurance covering all medical risks.

How to apply

   Complete online visa application for Medical Treatment category on Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

2. Document gathering

   Gather required documents: valid passport, two photos, medical certification from Colombian doctor/institution stating treatment need and duration, proof of financial solvency, health insurance certificate, and return flight information.

3. Fee payment

   Pay visa study fee of $50 USD.

4. Processing wait

   Wait for visa processing, typically 10-20 business days.

5. Visa collection

   Receive e-visa via email.
