Requires Indonesian company sponsorship and approved RPTKA (Foreign Manpower Utilization Plan) from Ministry of Manpower. VITAS approved abroad must be converted to KITAS/ITAS within 7 days of arrival. Directors/Commissioners/Senior Managers can get 12-24 month permits; advisors typically limited to 6 months non-extendable. Multiple Re-Entry Permit (MERP) available for multiple exits/entries during validity.

How to apply

  1. Document gathering

    Employer obtains RPTKA approval from Ministry of Manpower (typically 2-3 weeks)

  2. Online application

    Employer applies for VITAS (Temporary Stay Visa) through Indonesian immigration with RPTKA and IMTA

  3. Document submission

    Submit passport, photos, employment contract, educational certificates, health certificate, and sponsor documents to Indonesian embassy/consulate

  4. Fee payment

    Pay VITAS and work permit processing fees

  5. Processing wait

    Wait for VITAS approval from Indonesian immigration

  6. Visa collection

    Collect VITAS from embassy/consulate and travel to Indonesia

Introduced in 2024 for remote professionals working for overseas companies or their own foreign businesses while residing in Indonesia. Requires proof of foreign employment and minimum annual income of USD 60,000. Cannot work for Indonesian companies.
