Single-entry by default; multiple-entry may be granted for frequent travelers. Apply no earlier than 6 months and no later than 15 days before departure. Fee is EUR 90 for adults, EUR 45 for children aged 6-11, free for children under 6.

    Citizens of countries listed in EU Regulation 2018/1806 Annex I (visa-required third countries).

  • Financial

    Must demonstrate sufficient financial means to cover stay in the Netherlands, approximately EUR 55 per person per day.

  • Criminal record

    Must not be listed in the Schengen Information System (SIS) as a person to be refused entry and must not pose a threat to public order.

How to apply

  1. Online application

    Complete the Schengen visa application form online at netherlandsworldwide.nl or download and fill the paper form.

  2. Document gathering

    Collect all required supporting documents: passport, photos, insurance, financial proof, accommodation, flight reservations, and cover letter.

  3. Appointment booking

    Book an appointment at the Dutch embassy, consulate, or authorized visa application center (VFS Global or TLScontact).

  4. Document submission

    Submit application and all supporting documents in person at the embassy/consulate or visa application center.

  5. Biometrics

    Provide biometric data (fingerprints and digital photograph) at the visa application center. Biometrics are valid for 59 months and may be reused for subsequent applications.

  6. Fee payment

    Pay the visa application fee of EUR 90 (adults) at the time of submission. Additional service fee applies if using VFS Global or TLScontact.

  7. Processing wait

    Wait for visa processing. Standard processing time is 15 calendar days, which may be extended to 45 days if additional verification is required.

  8. Visa collection

    Collect passport with visa sticker from the embassy/consulate or visa application center, or receive by courier if that service was selected.

90/180-day rule applies across all Schengen states combined. EU/EEA/Swiss nationals have unrestricted freedom of movement and are not covered by this policy. Citizens of Schengen Annex II countries may enter the Netherlands and the Schengen Area without a visa for up to 90 days within any 180-day period for tourism, business visits, or family visits. ETIAS pre-travel authorization will be required starting late 2026.
