Diplomatic and service visas (symbol DS) are issued to holders of diplomatic or service/official passports traveling to Romania for official duties. Application is handled through government-to-government channels, not by individuals. Holders of diplomatic passports on official business may directly contact Romanian diplomatic missions/consular posts. Family members of diplomatic staff are also eligible. EU/EEA/Swiss diplomatic staff have free movement rights.
