Medical visa is issued to those traveling for treatment at Ugandan healthcare facilities. Requires letter from hospital confirming treatment schedule. Can be granted up to 3 months. Medical care is not free in Uganda - private and public hospitals require payment up front before providing treatment or admitting a patient. Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for all travelers over 1 year of age.
