Business e-visa is issued to business persons such as investors, professionals, or consultants coming to Uganda for short-term non-commercial engagements. This is NOT a work visa. It is only for meetings, seminars, consulting, contract negotiations/signing, estate settlement, etc. Holders must not earn direct remuneration for their services. Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory. Applicants should apply at least three weeks prior to departure.

Purpose of visit
For short-term business engagements including meetings, seminars, consulting, contract negotiations, estate settlement. Direct remuneration is NOT permitted. A work visa is required for employment.

Must NOT be employed or earn direct remuneration in Uganda. This visa is strictly for non-commercial business engagements. A work permit is required for employment.

Must have valid yellow fever vaccination certificate. Vaccination must be received at least 10 days before arrival.

How to apply

Document gathering
Gather required documents: valid passport, invitation letter from host in Uganda, round-trip flight tickets, recent passport photo, and yellow fever certificate.

Online application
Complete the business e-visa application at the official Uganda immigration portal. Upload all required documents including passport bio-data page, photograph, invitation letter, flight reservation, and yellow fever certificate.

Fee payment
Pay the visa fee of $50 USD online using credit or debit card at the time of application.

Processing wait
Wait for visa processing. Applications typically take 2-3 business days. Apply at least three weeks before your departure date.

Visa collection
Download and print your business e-visa confirmation. Present it at port of entry along with passport, yellow fever certificate, and invitation letter.
