How to apply

  1. Online application

    Fill out the harmonised Schengen visa application form online or by hand. Available at https://mzv.gov.cz/jnp/en/information_for_aliens/visa_form/index.html

  2. Document gathering

    Gather passport, photograph, proof of accommodation, return flight booking, travel insurance, proof of funds, and travel itinerary.

  3. Fee payment

    Pay the visa application fee of 90 EUR (adults) at the time of application submission.

  4. Appointment booking

    Schedule an appointment at the nearest Czech embassy, consulate, or VFS Global visa application center. Applications accepted 6 months to 15 days before intended travel.

  5. Document submission

    Attend the appointment and submit all required documents in person at the Czech embassy/consulate or visa application center.

  6. Biometrics

    Provide fingerprints and biometric photograph at the time of application if not already in the Visa Information System (VIS). Children under 12 are exempt.

  7. Processing wait

    Standard processing takes 15 calendar days. May be extended to 45 days in exceptional cases.

  8. Visa collection

    Collect passport with visa sticker from the embassy/consulate or visa application center upon approval notification.
