Schengen short-stay visa (Type C) required for nationals of Annex I countries. Fee is EUR 80 for adults over 12, EUR 40 for children 6-11, free for children under 6. Applications submitted through BLS International or VFS Global visa application centers, or directly at Spanish consulate.

Provide biometric data (10 fingerprints and digital photograph) at the visa application center. Biometrics are stored in VIS for 5 years; repeat applicants within 5 years may be exempt.

Citizens of EU member states, EEA countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway), and Switzerland enjoy full freedom of movement to Spain under EU Treaty rights. No visa or permit required. Right to reside, work, and study without restriction. Must register for a Certificate of EU Registration (Certificado de Registro de Ciudadano de la Union) if staying more than 3 months.

Citizens of Annex II countries may enter Spain and the Schengen area without a visa for short stays up to 90 days within any 180-day period. From 2026, ETIAS authorization (EUR 7) will be required for visa-exempt nationals before travel. Entry/Exit System (EES) is being rolled out from October 2025.
